hydrogen electrolysisWithout getting too fancy with technical terms, Hydrogen Electrolysis is the conversion of water into its constituent components: pure hydrogen and oxygen. This is done by sending electricity through specially designed pieces of metal or electrodes submerged in water. This process has been around for a long time, in fact it is the basis for most chrome plating operations. The "tension" caused by the electricity causes the water molecules to shear apart, and this results in the production of pure oxygen and hydrogen gas bubbles. This makes a gas called HHO. (sometimes referred to as Browns Gas) In the HHO generators used for automobiles, these gas bubbles rise into a very small collection chamber.
